WHY WE NEED YOU
Somewhere Nearby, a Student is Dreaming About Playing The Piano
They need someone patient enough to sit beside them, break down what feels impossible into something manageable, and help them prove to themselves that they can. That's what we do at Pianista. And we need more people who want to do it with us.
We've built something we're proud of. Every one of our Google reviews is five stars, and that's not because of what we teach, but how we teach it. Our students feel genuinely seen, supported, and capable. To grow without losing that, we need the right people.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be beside a nervous seven-year-old helping them trust themselves, or across from an adult learner rediscovering something they'd given up on. The reward is watching someone else's face when they play back what they couldn't play an hour ago.
We don't expect you to be a finished teacher. We expect you to be passionate about teaching, to be a good pianist who cares about people and is willing to learn.
Our students are wonderfully diverse. Many have additional learning differences — dyslexia, ADHD, dyspraxia, reduced mobility, etc. Some are very reserved; others love talking. Working with them asks for genuine curiosity, patience, and adaptability. We'll train you in all of this, but you need to want to learn it.
You'll also be the person families trust with their child's progress, so we'll help you to feel comfortable communicating openly and warmly with parents and adult students. This matters just as much as what you can do at the keyboard.
WHAT WE'RE OFFERING
Employed Positions — Part of the Team
You'll be part of our team, paid via PAYE, with holiday pay and the stability of a proper employment contract. We believe in investing in our teachers the same way we invest in our students.
OPTION 1
Part-time teaching
A few hours per week alongside your studies or other commitments. Slots are available on weekday mornings, afternoons, and evenings, and Saturday mornings. You choose what fits your schedule; we're building a team of several teachers, each taking the hours that work for them. Regular weekly commitment for your chosen slots, September to July, following school terms.
OPTION 2
A Career Pathway
For someone ready to make music education a real focus. More teaching hours, supporting our lead teacher, helping with studio activities, and developing your skills through structured professional development, potentially including a funded apprenticeship in music education. A genuine career pathway with room to grow.

Both routes start the same way: you'll begin as a teaching assistant alongside our lead teacher Maria, who is conservatoire-trained and has over 30 years of experience performing and teaching across four countries. You'll learn by observing and gradually taking on your own students, with our close support throughout.

WHAT WE VALUE
Patience. Empathy.
A Growth Mindset.
Your passion for teaching. The kind of quiet leadership that puts someone else's progress before your own comfort.
If you've ever helped a friend learn something difficult and felt more rewarded by their breakthrough than by any performance of your own, you already understand what we're looking for.

Wondering If You're Ready?
If you've read this far and you're thinking "I'd love to, but I'm not sure I can do this", that's worth paying attention to. Many of our students arrive feeling the same way.
We don't expect you to be a finished teacher. We expect you to be a good pianist who cares about people and is willing to learn. The teaching skills, the confidence with families, the ability to adapt to different learners, that's what we're here to help you develop.
If the idea of helping someone else grow excites you more than it scares you, you're more ready than you think.
