Do you prepare for exams?

Yes, we prepare students for ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) exams with comprehensive musical development beyond the required pieces. Exams remain optional in our program, allowing each student to progress at their natural pace while building the complete set of skills needed for long-term musical success.

How do you keep children engaged during lessons?

We incorporate a variety of activities, games, and teaching methods to maintain interest and enthusiasm. Lessons are paced appropriately with frequent changes of focus to match children's attention spans.

What age can my child start?

They can start at any age, really. It can vary based on the individual child's readiness and interest in music.

What kind of instrument does my child need?

We recommend an 88-key digital piano with weighted, touch-sensitive keys for optimal learning. However, we can begin with any basic keyboard while you explore options.

  • Do you provide the materials?

    We provide musical materials and a Welcome Piano Pack that includes a bag, notebook, and plastic folder. Parents must purchase a piano method or exam books separately if required.

    How do you handle practice motivation?

    We work with both parents and children to establish effective practice routines, using practice charts, rewards systems, and clear, achievable weekly goals to maintain motivation.

    How do you incorporate fun while ensuring progress?

    Learning is structured around playful activities and games that reinforce musical concepts. We balance enjoyment with skill development to ensure steady progress.

    How do you provide practice support between lessons?

    Parents can text or send video/audio recordings if their child encounters difficulties during practice. We provide prompt feedback to ensure continuous progress.

    How is progress measured and communicated to parents?

    How are fees handled?

    • Monthly payments in advance on the 1st via automatic debit through My Music Staff portal.
    • One-time, non-refundable £42 registration fee (family discounts available).
    • Registration fee covers access to learning resources, apps, recitals, workshops, and between-lesson support.

    What's your cancellation policy?

    • 24-hour notice required for lesson cancellation to receive a makeup credit.
    • Makeup credits can be used for available slots within the current academic year.
    • One month's notice required for program withdrawal.
    • Final invoice prorated based on entitled sessions up to termination date.

    What support materials are provided?

    • Access to interactive music learning apps.
    • Sheet music and theory materials.
    • Practice notes and instructions after each lesson.
    • Practice charts and motivation tools.
    • Video/audio support between lessons as needed.

    How do you handle exam preparation?

    While we don't focus solely on exams, we prepare students for them when they're ready, ensuring a strong foundation and confident performance abilities before recommending examination.

    How are lesson fees paid?

    Lesson fees are paid monthly in advance on the 1st via automatic debit from the student/parent's bank card through the My Music Staff portal.

    Is there a registration fee for the lesson programme?

    Yes, there is a one-time, non-refundable £42 registration fee per student (a £2 discount will be applied for every student of the same family).

    What does the registration fee cover?

    The fee guarantees your child’s spot and provides access to learning resources, apps, recitals, workshops, and practice support between lessons.

    Can I reschedule if my child misses a session?

    With at least 24 hours' notice, you'll receive a makeup credit for a missed session, redeemable for a future solo lesson based on availability. Credits cannot roll over years.

    How do I cancel or reschedule a session?

    Use the Student Portal calendar to cancel any upcoming session with 24 hours' notice to receive a makeup credit. Then book an available makeup slot matching your child’s
    lesson criteria.

    How do I cancel my child’s enrolment?

    If you need to discontinue your child’s lessons, please give one month's notice via email. Your child can continue attending their sessions until the notice period ends. Your final invoice will be prorated based on the number of sessions you were entitled to up to the termination date.
